WIRELESS CONTROL THAT SIMPLY WORKS
TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. is a testing body officially appointed by the ZigBee Alliance to develop and implement the qualification of ZigBee products. TUV Rheinland is extensively involved in the development of all ZigBee testing and specifications and methods, and is responsible for testing ZigBee devices for certification by the Alliance. ZigBee testing by TUV Rheinland is available in the U.S. now, and will be available in TUV subsidiaries throughout Asia and Europe.
TUV has also completed ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) tests for Version 1.0 of the ZigBee specification and is approved by the ZigBee Alliance to perform ZCP Testing. The ZCP is a combination of an IEEE 802.15.14 compliance transceiver and an embedded microcontroller, running the ZigBee protocol stack up to the Application Layer. The ZCP forms the basis of implementing ZigBee technology in proprietary and open ZigBee enabled end products. Each new combination of transceiver, microcontroller and stack requires a separate ZCP certification by the ZigBee Alliance. Platform level certification ensures interoperability of ZigBee devices in a multi-vendor network.
What is the ZigBee Alliance?
The ZigBee Alliance is an organization with a mission to define reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. The Alliance provides upper layer stack and application profiles, compliance and certification testing and branding. The result is a set of interoperable solutions recognizable in the market.

Companies such semiconductor manufacturers, wireless IP providers, OEMs and end users support the ZigBee Alliance. Currently, there is over 100 industry leaders wordwide that are committed to providing ZigBee compliant products and solutions.
