TUV's first North American office was established in 1980 in New York City. The business was incorporated in 1983 and expanded to today's respectable size. TUV offers a broad range of services reflecting the rapid technical developments of the past few years. TUV appraises, tests and certifies technical equipment and products according to international quality standards and then registers those in compliance.
TUV has specialized itself to offer testing in the following areas: Automotive, Industrial Machinery, Product Safety, Quality Registration Services, Medical, Pressure Equipment & Material Technology and Telecommunications Equipment.
Our corporate logo is designed to represent three elements inherent to TUV and its activities: people, technology and the environment. The wave is a common symbol within TUV, as our measurements are frequently translated into oscillating values. The wave also symbolizes the Rhine River which flows by TUV's World Headquarters in Cologne, Germany.
